Dr. Gary VanDeaver

Dr. Gary VanDeaver joins Powell Law Group as a Field Service Agent. He is a 33-year rural educator who has served as a teacher, elementary principal, high school principal, and most recently as superintendent of New Boston ISD, where he was named the Region 8 Superintendent of the Year. In 2015, Gary was sworn into office as the State Representative for Texas House District 1 where he has been a member of the Administration, Public Education, and Appropriations committees. He will begin his fourth term as State Representative in
January, 2021. During his tenure in the Texas House, Gary has been a strong voice for public education and his legislative work has been recognized by educational and business groups throughout Texas. Recognizing the importance of civic involvement, Gary continues to help Texas educators become more involved in the policy-making process.
